Replacement Cartridge
The cartridge (knob) portion of the valve contains the hygroscopic discs. The
cartridge can be easily replaced without draining the heating unit. The discs can
deteriorate over time when exposed to unfiltered or hard water. Replacement of
the hygroscopic cartridge is recommended at least every two years. Cartridges
may need to be replaced more often if installed in aluminum radiators.

Drying Time

PTFE provides lubricity so that care must be exercised not to overtighten joints.
