Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Chord Wah-Vol pedal as part of your professional guitar effects setup. Please

read and keep this manual to get the best results from your pedal and avoid damage through misuse.

Warning

Avoid ingress of moisture or foreign objects into the housing of the pedal.

Care should be taken to keep the aperture beneath the treadle clear to avoid damage to the pot.

Ensure all connecting leads are of good quality and working order.
For external adaptor, ensure the correct type is used (9Vdc 100mA, 2.1mm jack, negative to centre)

Cleaning



Use a soft dry or slightly damp to clean the cabinet as required.
Clear apertures with a soft brush.



Do not use strong solvents for cleaning the unit

Setting up

To install the battery, remove the 4 feet on the base for access into the housing.
Connect an alkaline or NiMH 9V battery to the battery clip and stow neatly inside.

Replace the feet carefully, ensuring no wires or components are trapped by the base plate.
Alternatively, a 9Vdc adaptor can be connected via a 2.1mm DC jack next to the output jack.

Connect the guitar via 6.3mm mono jack to the right-hand side input.
Connect the left-hand side output jack to amplifier or further effect units.

Normally, a wah pedal is connected first in the chain of effects but this is not compulsory.
Experimentation with connection sequence is recommended.

Operation

The wah effect is engaged by pressing toe-down hard to engage the effect switch.

Rocking the treadle produces the effect from “oo” sound heel down to “aah” sound toe down.
Pressing again hard toe-down switches the wah effect off with the treadle operating as a volume pedal.

Heel down is the lowest volume level and toe down is full level.
This can be used for softening certain passages or generating swell or bowing effects.
