4. SIL5723 Serial ATA RAID connectors (7-pin SPEEDING HDD1/2 [black])
These connectors are for the Serial ATA signal cables for Serial ATA hard disk
drives. If you install SATA hard disk drives, you can create a Super Speed or
an EZ Backup configuration with the Speeding HDD Technology through the
onboard Silicon Image ® SIL5723 controller.
To install SATA hard disk drives:
1. Prepare two SATA hard disk drives.
2. Connect SATA signal cables from Connect SATA signal cables from
the hard drives to the SPEEDING
HDD 1 and SPEEDING HDD 2
connectors.
3. Connect power supply to the hard Connect power supply to the hard
drives.
• The SPEEDING HDD1/2 connectors do not support ATAPI devices or hot-
plug function.
• Back up your data stored in the two SATA hard drives before using
Speeding HDD function. In EZ Backup mode, data stored in the drive
connected to SPEEDING HDD2 port will be erased. In Super Speed mode,
data stored in both drives will be erased.
