4.3.11 ROG Speeding HDD

ROG Speeding HDD secures the data stored in your hard disk drive and enhances

hard drive performance, saving you the trouble of complicated configurations. With

its friendly graphical user interface, you can easily make hard drive backups or

increase the hard drive’s transfer rate.

Installing Serial ATA hard drives

To use Speeding HDD in Windows

®

operating system, we recommend that you

prepare three hard disks: one with operating system already installed, and the other

two for Speeding HDD configuration.
To install Serial ATA hard disks for Speeding HDD configuration:
1. Install two SATA hard disks into the drive bays.
2. Plug one end of the SATA signal cables to each drive, and plug the other end

of the cables to the SPEEDING HDD1 and SPEEDING HDD2 connectors on

the motherboard. Refer to page 2-26 for the location of these two connectors.

3. Connect a SATA power cable to the power connector of each drive.

The main screen appears. There are two

modes for Speeding HDD: EZ Backup

and Super Speed.

• Before using the Speeding HDD function, ensure that you have installed

the Marvell 61xx driver to the system.

• When the Speeding HDD mode in BIOS setup is configured as EZ

Backup or Super Speed, ensure that you install two hard disks to the

SPEEDING1/2 connectors. Otherwise, the HDD LED on the front panel

flashes.
