2. Store the dark spectrum. Block the light by turning the mirror. The spectrum line will be flat
and close to the baseline.
3. Store the reference spectrum. The reference cuvette will contain only the solvent, usually water
or an organic solvent. With a compound in solution the absorbance will reduce the peak.
