Dana ® Steer Axle History Timeline
The following timeline shows graphically when Dana Corporation and Spicer Corporation
both merged into the steer axle business. Dana and Spicer started with very similar
beginnings: Dana in 1982 and Spicer in 1981. In 1998, Dana Corporation acquired the
Axle and Brake Division from Spicer Truck Components. The following timeline shows
the introduction date for the various models in the steer axle line-up.
