Shortcut Keys
Only Aastra 7434ip
The illustration below shows the phone’s eight program-
mable shortcut keys and the default settings.
All keys on the optional Key Panel Unit and Display Panel Unit are
programmable shortcut keys.
Some shortcuts can be programmed by the user, while
others require administrator rights.
Shortcuts that the
user can program:
Phone numbers and feature codes.
Shortcuts that only
administrators can
program:
Functions (such as Callback and
Follow-me) and monitored
extensions.
Program a shortcut: Press and hold the shortcut key you
wish to program. Press Yes if the
following message is displayed:
Not programmed! Program
shortcut?
Press more… and select how to
add the new shortcut: manually,
from Call List, or from Contacts.
Add new manual
input: Select Add new manual input.
Enter the data and press OK. Press
Done to save.
Note: When you program a shortcut on the
display panel unit (DPU), the shortcut will be
displayed as a label on the DPU.
Add new from Call
List: Select Add new from Call List.
Select an entry from the call list and
press Add. Press Done to save.
Add new from
Contacts: Select Add new from Contacts.
Select one of your contacts and
press Add. Press Done to save.

Follow-me
Program a
shortcut from a
web browser: Open a web browser on your PC
and enter the phone IP address in
the address field. Enter the PIN or
password that you use to log on the
phone. Select Settings and Phone
Shortcuts or Panel * Shortcuts
(where * stands for 1, 2 or 3) in the
left panel of the window. Program
the shortcut keys.
Note: To find the phone IP number, press ,
and scroll down to select Help, About:
Aastra 7434ip and then Phone IP
Address…
Edit a shortcut: Press , press Shortcuts. Press the
shortcut key you wish to edit, and
press more… - Edit Data (or Edit
Label). Make the desired changes,
and press Done to confirm.
Delete shortcut: Press , select Shortcuts. Press
the shortcut you wish to delete, and
press more… - Delete: [selected
shortcut]. Press Yes to confirm.
Delete all shortcuts: Press , select Shortcuts. Press
more… - Delete all Shortcuts.
Press Yes to confirm.
Corporate Directory
Search in the
corporate directory:
Press , select Corporate
Directory. Enter Last name and
first name separated with a space.
Press Search. If wanted person is
found press Call.
It is sufficient to enter the first
letters of the name, e.g. entering S A
will show all persons with the last
name starting with a S and first
name staring with an A.
Note: The syntax to enter the name
can differ dependant of the type of
the directory server.
