Refer to the specifi c instructions of Makita Corporation on

the battery and charger for correct use, service and disposal

of these parts.

Before using your RIDGID Press Fit tool:
• Check for any transport damage. Any damage should be reported im-

mediately to the forwarders.

• Check that all parts are included with the Press Fit tool.
• Check that the correct type of 14.4 V battery is used.
• Do not use any other type or make of battery with the Press Fit tool.

Any repairs or Service to the RIDGID Press Fit tool must only be made
by an approved RIDGID Press Fit Service Centre.
All people involved in the working process must keep hands and fi ngers away
from the jaws! Remove battery from tool when not in use, before service or
during setup or accessory change. Avoid unintentional starting. Keep people
away from working area.

! Do not operate the tool without a pressing jaw.

The tool may be damaged.

Operating the RP 100-B and RP 300-B Press Fit tools.

Fitting of the jaws (see Fig.1)
• Pull out the lock pin (Fig.1, ref. 7).
• Insert the correct jaw (Fig.1, ref. 8) (size and specifi cation of the fi tting)

into the jaw-mounting opening.

Note:- Use only RP 100-B RIDGID jaws with the RP 100-B
• Insert the lock pin into the hole situated in the jaw side plate, and fi rmly

close the lock pin by pushing it back into the original position (Fig.2).

Performing the Press Fit action
• Check that the correct jaws have been fi tted for the joint that is going to

be pressed.

• Check that a charged battery is correctly inserted into the tool and place

the jaws over the fi tting.

• Press the ON switch (Fig.1, ref. 1) to switch on the electronic controls.

A warning beep (300-B only) advises that the power is on and the green,
red and orange LED’s will light momentarily leaving only the green LED
to indicate the tool is ready to be operated.

• Press the start trigger (Fig.1, ref. 3) to initiate the automatic press cycle.
Important: Keep fi ngers and hands away from jaws during pressing
cycle!
• Wait until the complete pressing cycle has been completed.
• The tool features an automatic pressing facility. This ensures a full pres-

sing cycle at all times. For safety reasons, the automatic pressing facility
only engages after the electronic control has completed system checks.

• If the pressing cycle was not completed correctly, an audible warning will

sound (300-B only) and the red LED will blink to inform the operator of
the error. See TROUBLESHOOTING.

Rotation of the jaw holder
• The jaw holder can be rotated 90° (Fig.1, ref. 5).

The RP 100-B is designed for use with special RIDGID Press Fit

jaws for the RP 100-B only.

The RP 300-B is designed for use with the majority of Press Fit

jaws available on the market.

The tools are designed to make Press Fit connections on

couplings using jaws meeting the specifi cations of the fi tting

manufacturer. Follow fi tting manufacturer’s recommendations on

proper crimping procedures.

The use of these tools for any other application not specifi cally

approved by RIDGID may damage the tool, jaws or fi tting and/or

cause personal injury.
