Recording images
Still images and movie images can be recorded during observation. Data can be stored on the
provided SD card.
Use either the provided SD card or a recommended Class 6 or higher SDHC card for storage. Use
of SDXC cards is not supported.
Loading an SD card
Format the SD card for recording images on the instrument before using it. For details about
formatting, refer to "SD card formatting (initialization)" (P. 28).
The following table shows the size of a single image and the approximate numbers of images that
can be recorded on an SD card.
Image recording settings must be configured using menu operations. See "5.1 Performing menu
operations" (P. 26) and "5.2 Using the live screen/freeze screen" (P. 27).
Loading an SD card
Use your finger to pull the SD card cover lock and open the cover.
Noting the orientation of the SD card, insert it into the slot until you hear it click into place. Next,
close the SD card cover.
CAUTION
• If the SD card does not slide smoothly into the slot, it could mean that it is not aligned correctly. Do not try
to force the card into the slot. Check its orientation.
Specifying the image recording format
To record the date, time, title, logo, and other on-screen information onto the image being
recorded, press the [ENT/MENU] joystick while a live screen is displayed. On the menu that
appears, select "SETUP" and then "PRINT SCREEN ON/OFF". Next, change the "PRINT
SCREEN ON/OFF" setting to "ON". (See P.27.)
NOTE
• Replaying a still image that has the date, title, and other information recorded on it may result in
overlapping of date, time, title, logo, and other text. This is not a malfunction.
