Turn the nut of the optical adapter clockwise
until the second screw thread is screwed onto
the connecting screw thread. Tighten the nut
until it stops.
„ Removing the optical adapter
To remove the optical adapter, repeat the above attachment steps in reverse order.
„ Optical adapter attachment and detachment messages
Attachment or detachment of the optical adapter is automatically detected and indicated by a
message.

OPTICAL ADAPTER IS ATTACHED.
• Detachment
OPTICAL ADAPTER HAS BEEN DETACHED.
Also, if the screw of the nut of the optical adapter is loose, a detached message is displayed.
Checking the illumination of the distal end
CAUTION
• The Illumination emitted from the distal end can heat nearby objects and cause them to ignite. Always turn
the LIGHT button ( ) OFF when the instrument is not in use.
• If the illumination light does not light when you push the LIGHT button ( ), the optical adapter may not be
attached correctly. There is a risk that the optical adapter may fall off, refer to "Attaching the optical
adapter" (P. 14) to attach it correctly.
Attaching the optical adapter to the distal end automatically turns on illumination.
Checking the angulation operation of the insertion tube
Extend the insertion tube straight out and operate the joystick to
check for smooth angulation section operation.
Angulation movement matches the angle and direction of
joystick movement.
