Answering system operation
Call screening
If you wish to listen to caller’s leaving their message before choosing to answer a call, follow these
steps:
1 Set the playback
VOL on the base unit to a level greater than 1 by
pressing or .
2 If you decide to answer a call while the caller is leaving a message,
simply press TALK/FLASH on the handset The answering system will
stop and you can begin speaking to the caller
Access code
To retrieve new messages from any touch tone phone from a remote
location, an access code is required The remote access code can be
any two digit number between 10 and 99 The remote access code has
been set to 19 at the factory but it can be changed at any time for your
convenience
Setting the remote access
1 Press SETUP twice, the system announces “Remote access code. To change the setting, press
CHANGE.”
2 Press CHANGE, the system announces the current setting (the default remote access code is
19 )
3 Press and release CHANGE to advance the remote access code number by one Press and hold
CHANGE to advance the remote access code by 10
4 When the desired number is announced Press SETUP to save and advance to the next menu
option Or press PLAY/STOP / to save and exit
