Using the Batteries
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion or NiMH battery.
The following phone manufacturer approved batteries are available for
your phone:
• NiMH batteries: BMH-1 Standard Battery, BMH-1V Vibrating Battery
• Li-Ion batteries: BLJ-1 Slim Battery, BLJ-4 Ultra Extended Battery.
Battery Charge Indication
The current level of battery charge is indicated by the vertical bar on the
right of the phone display. The higher the bar, the more power left in the
battery. When the battery is fully charged, the entire bar is displayed.
When the battery charge level is low and only a few minutes of talk time
remain, a warning tone will be heard and the text
BATTERY LOW will
be repeated at regular intervals on the display.
When the battery charge level becomes too low for the phone to operate,
the text
RECHARGE BATTERY is briefly displayed (accompanied by a
warning tone) and the phone automatically switches itself off.
Note: If the tones have been turned off, only the display texts will appear.
Recharging a Battery
Connect your phone directly to a charger or place it in the desktop stand
(CGD-8) with the phone switched on or off. Segments of the battery in-
dicator bar will start scrolling. The text
CHARGING will be briefly dis-
played if the phone is switched on.
• If you use any other charger than ACH-6, LCH-6 or LCM-1 and the
phone is provided with a plastic cap protecting the system connector,
first remove the cap and then connect the charger. After charging, re-
place the cap.
• In some vehicles, the ignition must be on in order to charge the phone
with the cigarette lighter adapter.
The battery is fully charged when the scrolling stops, the bar appears en-
tirely, and the text
BATTERY FULL is briefly displayed.
