Teaching Learning Remotes and Keypads the MRZ-6 IR Commands
1) Power up the learning remote or keypad using new, fresh batteries etc.
2) Place the T EACH L EARNING R EMOTES AND K EYPADS template so that the buttons and LED’s are revealed through
the cutouts in the template. See Figure 28.
3) Press and hold the CD O N button for at least two seconds, then, while you continue to press and
hold the CD I NPUT button, tap the R OOM O FF button. Release both buttons. The six LED’s in the
center of the front panel should be cycling back and forth in a repeating pattern, indicating that
the MRZ-6 is ready to teach IR commands.
4) Place the remote control one inch in
front of the Teach LED pointed
straight towards the LED. If the com-
mand you are teaching is a normal
command, tap the key on the front
panel of the MRZ-6. If the command
is volume up or volume down, press
and hold the key on the front panel
of the MRZ-6. As the IR command is
issued by the MRZ-6, the IR LED
next to the teaching LED will flicker.

5) Repeat step 4 until all commands are
taught. To return to normal operating
mode repeat step 3.

learning remote, repeat step one to exit back to normal
operating mode.

USE THIS TEMPLATE TO TEACH THE MRZ-6 THE IR COMMANDS FOR THE PREAMP/ RECEIVER, THE CD PLAYER AND THE TUNER STEP 1 Press and Hold the CD I NPUT button for 2 sec- onds. While still holding the CD I INPUT button, tap the T UNER F AVORITE S T A TION button. STEP 2 The six LED s in the center of the front panel will blink twice, then the S ELECT LED will light confirming that the MRZ-6 is ready for you to select a key. STEP 3 Press the key you wish to teach. The L EARN LED will blink confirming that the MRZ-6 is ready to learn IR commands. STEP 4 Tap the key on the remote that you are teaching from. The S ELECT LEDwill light when the IR command is learned. Continue steps 2 and 3 as required. T o return to operating mode press the EXIT button.
