sound effects of a television pro-
gram or home video that are dis-
played on the TV screen. Your
local TV program guide denotes
these programs as or .
With the FEATURES menu on
the screen, Press the CURSOR
DOWN button repeatedly until
Captions is highlighted. Then press
the CURSOR RIGHT button to
enter the Captions options area.
See the descriptions of the
options below on this page. Press
the CURSOR DOWN, RIGHT, or
LEFT button to highlight an option.
Then press the OK button to select.
To return to the FEATURES
menu, press the CURSOR LEFT
button. To go to the Menu Bar,
press the MENU/SELECT button.
To clear the screen, press the STA-
TUS/EXIT button.

Captions options and their functions when selected:
“Display” “Off” “On” “Mute”
“Off” turns Closed Captioning off. “On” turns Closed Captioning on. “Mute” turns the Closed Captioning when you
press the MUTE button on the remote control.
“Mode”
“C.C.” displays Closed Captioning for the program you are viewing.
“Text” displays additional information such as news reports or a TV program guide. This information covers the entire
screen and viewing the TV program is not possible. Text may not be available with every program that features Closed
Captioning.
“Channel”
“1” is used for the primary language (usually English).
“2” is used for a second language (may vary by region).
