Getting an Outside Line Using PIN Code
Access
If your PBX requires a PIN (Personal Identification Number) Code to access an external line, your
machine can be set to prompt the user to enter the PIN Code before dialing.
This function is available when “39 PIN Code Access” in Fax/Email Settings> Fax Parameters is set to
“Suffix” or “Prefix”.
When “39 PIN Code Access” is set to “Prefix”, the dialing procedure is as follows.

This feature is not available when dialing from a connected external telephone.

The standard setting of “39 PIN Code Access” is set to “None”. For instructions on how to change the
standard setting, refer to Fax/Email Settings in the Operating Instructions (For Function Parameters) on the
provided CD-ROM.

Place Original(s).

Refer to Placing Originals (Facsimile/Internet
Fax) in the Operating Instructions (For Basic
Operations) of provided booklet.

Press the Fax Key.

Set “Quality Adj.” as required.

Refer to Setting Original Quality (see page
26).

Select a destination.

Refer to Entering a Destination (see page
16).

Press the Start key.

Enter a PIN Code, and then select
“OK”. (Up to 36 digits).
The original(s) are stored into memory with a
file number. Then starts dialing the telephone
number.
