Getting Started
Turning the Camera On and Off

Press the power switch.
The camera turns on.
The lens cover opens and the lens extends when the camera is turned
on.

Press the power switch again.
The camera turns off.
The SD Memory Card is checked automatically
when the camera is turned on. ? appears on the
LCD monitor when a card has been inserted and
images and sound are recorded on the card. Y
appears instead of ? when the write-protect
switch on the SD Memory Card is in the locked
position (p.22). Images and sound cannot be
recorded, deleted or the card cannot be
formatted when the write-protect switch is locked.
@
appears when no card has been inserted and images and sounds are
recorded in the built-in memory.
