taking portraits with scenic
backgrounds at night. Night
portraits require a balanced
exposure between the
camera’s flash and the
background. In this mode, the
camera sets the largest
possible aperture and a slower
shutter speed to allow the
background to appear in the
photograph.

Photographing Night Scenes

Tips:

•Use faster film and a tripod.
•If you are photographing a dark night scene, it may be difficult

for the camera to focus, use manual focus or focus hold.
