x STEADYSHOT TYPE
You can select a type of camera-shake
reduction for different recording situations.
HARD
Reduces camera shake considerably.
This setting is not suitable for recording
when you are using techniques like
panning or tilting.
B STANDARD
Standard camera-shake reduction.
SOFT
Reduces camera shakes moderately. Slight
unsteadiness remains in movies, which
make the movies look as they are.
WIDE CONVERSION
This item is provided for a wide
conversion lens (sold separately), and
especially effective for Sony wide
conversion lens.
x ACTIVE STEADYSHOT TYPE
You can select a type of powerful camera-
shake reduction for different recording
situations.
B STANDARD
Reduces camera shakes more powerfully
while you are walking or moving around.
WIDE CONVERSION
This item is provided for using a wide
conversion lens (sold separately) in
[ACTIVE STEADYSHOT] mode, and
especially effective for Sony wide
conversion lens.
b Notes
• At the [ACTIVE STEADYSHOT] setting, the
imaging field shifts slightly to the telephoto
side, and the resolution will deteriorate slightly,
as well.
z Tips
• You can assign an ASSIGN button to work as
[SET] (p. 45).
When you set this function to [ON], you
can temporarily focus manually using the
focus ring during the auto focus adjustment.
The default setting is [OFF].
b Notes
• This function is effective only when the FOCUS
switch is set to AUTO (p. 27).
When you set this function to [ON], you
can focus on a subject within 80 cm (about
2 5/8 feet). The default setting is [ON].
When you set this function to [OFF]

), you can set fine focus on a
subject further than 80 cm regardless of the
zoom position, although you will lose focus
on a subject within 80 cm.
z Tips
• You can assign this function to an ASSIGN
button (p. 45).
You can select the zoom speed for the FIX
position of the handle zoom switch from [1]
(slow) through [8] (fast). The default setting
is [3].
When you set this function to [ON], you
can increase the zoom speed of the power
zoom lever and the handle zoom. The
default setting is [OFF].
b Notes
• When you set this function to [ON], the
operation sound of the zoom may also be
recorded.
