LED Definitions
In addition to beep sequences, the digital scanner uses a two-color LED to indicate status.

Scanning with the Digital Scanner

Ensure all connections are secure (see the appropriate host chapter.)

Aim the digital scanner at the bar code.

When the digital scanner senses movement, in its default Auto Aim trigger mode, it projects a red laser
aiming pattern (shown in
) which allows positioning the bar code or object within the field of
view. (To turn off the default Auto Aim trigger mode, see
Figure 2-10
Laser Aiming Pattern
If necessary, the digital scanner turns on its red LEDs to illuminate the target bar code.

Off
No power is applied to the digital scanner, or the digital scanner is on and ready to

Green
A bar code was successfully decoded.
Red
A data transmission error or digital scanner malfunction occurred.
