Enjoying Sounds from the External
Equipment

You can enjoy sounds from the external equipment connected to the
DIGITAL IN OPTICAL terminal or AUX IN jacks on the rear panel
of the center unit.
• When you listen to analog sounds encoded with Dolby Surround,

you can enjoy Dolby Surround.

Select AUX as the source.

From the remote control:

Press AUX.
• Each time you press the button, the source alternates between

DIGITAL IN and ANALOG IN.

DIGITAL IN : Select this to enjoy the external equipment

connected to the DIGITAL IN OPTICAL
terminal.

ANALOG IN : Select this to enjoy the external equipment

connected to the AUX IN jacks.

On the front panel:

Press SOURCE repeatedly until “DIGITAL IN” or
“ANALOG IN” appears on the display.
• Each time you press the button, the source changes

as follows:

* “WAIT” appears on the display.

Start playback on the external equipment.

• For in-depth information about the external equipment, see the

manual supplied for it.

When you select “ANALOG IN” and reproduce the sounds
encoded with Dolby Surround, you can enjoy Dolby Surround in
the next step.

Press PRO LOGIC to activate Dolby
Surround.

• Each time you press the button, Dolby Surround

mode changes as follows:

• When Dolby Surround activates, the PRO LOGIC indicator

lights up on the display.

Realistic Sound Fields” on pages 18 and 22.

Turning Off the Power with the Timer

You can fall asleep while listening to music—Sleep Timer.

From the remote control ONLY:

Press SLEEP.
• Each time you press the button, the shut-off time changes

as follows:

When the shut-off time comes, the system turns off automatically.

To check or change the time remaining until the
shut-off time

Press SLEEP once.
The remaining time (in minutes) appears on the display.
• By pressing SLEEP, you can change the shut-off time.

To cancel the Sleep Timer

Press SLEEP repeatedly until “OFF” appears on the
display.
• Turning off the power also cancels the Sleep Timer.
