If the Channel Free Indication feature is enabled, you
will hear a short alert tone the moment the target radio
releases the PTT button, indicating the channel is free for
you to respond. Press the PTT button to respond.
OR
If there is no voice activity for a programmed period of time,
the call ends.
Making a Private Call from Contacts
Procedure:

to select.The
entries are alphabetically sorted.

to the required subscriber alias or ID.

Press the PTT button to make the call. The green LED lights
up. The first line displays the subscriber alias or ID. The
second line displays Private Call and the Private Call
icon.

Wait for the Talk Permit Tone to finish (if enabled) and speak
clearly into the microphone.

Release the PTT button to listen. When the target radio
responds, the green LED blinks and the display shows the
transmitting user's alias or ID.

If the Channel Free Indication feature is enabled, you will
hear a short alert tone the moment the target radio releases
the PTT button, indicating the channel is free for you to
respond. Press the PTT button to respond.
OR
If there is no voice activity for a programmed period of time,
the call ends.

You hear a short tone. The display shows Call Ended.
NOTE: If you release the PTT button while the radio is setting
up the call, it exits without any indication and returns to
the previous screen.
Your radio may be programmed to perform a radio
presence check prior to setting up the Private Call. If
the target radio is not available, you hear a short tone
and see Party Not Available on the display.
The radio returns to the menu prior to initiating the
radio presence check.
