Talkgroups Not in Scangroups

If you have a Talkgroup saved to Contacts that is
not in a Scangroup, you cannot join that Talkgroup
from Contacts or the recent calls list unless you
create a Scangroup for it in Contacts.

To create a Scangroup for a Talkgroup:

1 Begin creating a new Contacts entry. See

“Creating Entries” on page 42.

2 Assign the Scangroup Contacts type to the

entry.

3 Assign the Talkgroup number as the number of

the Scangroup.

This creates a Scangroup with the same number
as the Talkgroup it contains.

You can also join a Talkgroup that is not in a
Scangroup by pressing

#

and then entering the

Talkgroup number using the keypad. Your phone
treats this as if you had joined a Scangroup
containing only that Talkgroup.

Joining a Scangroup

To make and receive Group Connect calls, you
must join a Scangroup.

When you join a Scangroup, you can make or
receive Group Connect calls only with Talkgroups
in that Scangroup. You can only belong to one
Scangroup at time.
