Using Traffic Information
Using Traffic Information
Depending upon the traffic receiver
connected to your zūmo, you can receive
XM NavTraffic content or FM Traffic
Message Content (TMC) traffic updates.
Your zūmo displays both types of traffic
content in the same manner.
NOTES:
The GXM 40 antenna and a subscription
to XM services are required to access
XM NavTraffic. XM NavTraffic may
not be available in all areas. For more
information about receiving XM signals,

An optional FM traffic receiver is
required to receive FM TMC traffic
updates and is only compatible with the
zūmo auto mount.

To receive traffic information, the following
conditions must be met:
The GXM 40 antenna or FM traffic
receiver must be connected to the zūmo.
The GXM 40 antenna or FM traffic
receiver, and the zūmo, must be
connected to an external power source.
The FM traffic receiver and the zūmo
must be in data range of an FM station
transmitting traffic information.
NOTE: Heated (metallized) windshields
could degrade the performance of the traffic
receiver.

Traffic in Your Area
When you are receiving traffic information,
a traffic icon appears in the upper-right
corner of the Map page. The traffic icon
changes color to indicate the severity of
traffic conditions on your route or on the
road you are currently traveling.
Severity Color Code
Color
Description
Meaning
Green
Low severity
Traffic is flowing
normally.
Yellow
Medium
severity
Traffic is slightly
congested.
Red
High severity
Traffic is heavily
congested or
stopped.
Gray
No Data
Traffic data has
not updated.
