Maximize the Battery Life
Turn down the backlight at >
Settings > System .
Do not leave your nüvifone in
direct sunlight. Avoid prolonged
exposure to excessive heat.
Replace the Battery
If you need to replace the battery in
the nüvifone, use an SBP-20 lithium-
ion battery. For more information on
purchasing a replacement battery, go
to www.garminasus.com.
CaUTiOn: Only use the correct
battery type. Using an incorrect
battery may present a risk of
explosion.
CaUTiOn: Do not use a sharp
object to remove the battery. A
sharp object may puncture the
battery which may present a risk
of fire, chemical burn, electrolyte
leak, and/or injury.

To avoid losing your customized
settings, replace the battery within
five minutes of removing it from
your device.
Contact your local waste disposal
department for information on
properly disposing of the battery and
device.
Acquire GPS Satellite
Signals
Your nüvifone must acquire GPS
(Global Positioning System) satellite
signals to navigate. The nüvifone
automatically attempts to acquire
satellite signals.
If you are indoors, near tall buildings
or trees, or in a parking garage, your
nüvifone might not acquire satellites.
To acquire satellite signals more
quickly, take your nüvifone outside,
to an area free from tall obstructions.
