Chapter 7 Database Function
7.1 Database Connect
[Introduction]
Create a database connection to DB server. The system will manage the
connection pool to improve the overall performance.
[Description]
Right-click the Database Connect component, the screen appears as
Figure 7-1.

Alias Name: Used to identify a DB connection
User ID: The login ID account name for accessing the DB
Password: The password for accessing the DB
Time out (sec): The max time to wait to connect to DB. It is calculated after
got a free DB connection from connection pool.
Get Resource Timeout (sec): The max time to wait for getting a free
connection resource. SIP6800 will manage the DB connection pool (max is
64 connections) to improve overall performance. User can change it on
system configuration.
Wait Forever: Check this box, the system will wait infinitely until getting
connection resource
Connection String: Information for connection to DB server. ( Server name
in Connection String must be in IP format )
Filename: Check “Filename” and set the file path if you want to use a
“udl” file (Microsoft Universal Data Link) to connect with DB.
Var: Check "Var" when “Connection String” is stored in a variable
Success Goto: This read-only field contains the component ID that takes
control following successful completion of the current component
Error Goto: Next component to be executed if an error is occurred
Timeout Goto: Next component to be executed if waiting DB response time
out
