2. AIR CLEANER SERVICE
A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburetor. To prevent carburetor
malfunction, service the air cleaner regularly. Service more frequently when
operating the generator in extremely dirty areas.

Do not use gasoline or low flash point solvents for cleaning. They are flammable
and explosive under certain conditions.

Never run the generator without the air cleaner, otherwise rapid engine wear may
result.
a. Loosen the cover screw and remove the left side maintenance cover.
b1. Remove the air cleaner cover and remove single foam air cleaner element
(IGR1000P)
b2. Remove the air cleaner cover and remove the fine and coarse elements (IGR2000P
& IGR2600HP)
c. Wash the elements in a non-flammable or high flash point solvent and dry it
thoroughly.
d. Soak the elements in clean engine oil and squeeze out the excess oil.
e. Reinstall the coarse and fine air cleaner elements and the air cleaner cover. Tighten
the cover screw securely.
f. Reinstall the maintenance cover and tighten the cover screw securely.

Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is compliant with environment
and local disposal regulations. Do not throw it in the trash, pour it on the ground,
or down the drain.
