4.10.3.1 Quick Connect to IPAWS CAP Server
To quick connect to the FEMA CAP Server, create a new client and follow the options in the screen
shot below.
Setup > Net Alerts > CAP Decode; Quick connect to FEMA CAP Server
Choose the IPAWS Open 2.0
Get Poll Protocol
Ensure that DNS is enabled (Setup >
Network > Configuration)
Type apps.fema.gov for the CAP server host
address and
IPAWSOPEN_EAS_SERVICE/rest/update
for the URL path
Enter your county and your state in your
FIPS list (And maybe some surrounding
counties)
(Last) When this says Connected you
are ready to decode CAP Alerts (You
may need to refresh the page)
