Advanced Playback
With the Zoom function you can enlarge any part of the
picture.
Notes:
• The Zoom function may not work with some DVDs.
• The Zoom function can also be used while playback is
paused or during slow-motion playback.
• The Zoom function cannot be used to zoom menus.
With the Time Search function you can locate specific
points.
Notes:
• Time search works within the currently playing title
(DVD-Video/DVD-VR) or track (DVD-Audio,
SACD, VCD, CD). If, for example, the current title is
one hour long and you enter 1 hour, 30 minutes, noth-
ing will happen.
• In some cases, playback may start from a slightly dif-
ferent point to the one that you specify.
• Time search may not work with some discs.
• Time search cannot be used while a DVD-Video menu
is displayed onscreen, or while a VCD that supports
PBC is playing.
• The [Search] button cannot be used during random
playback.
Zooming
1 During playback, press the
[Zoom On] button.
The Zoom x1 window appears
onscreen.
2 Press the [+] part of the Zoom
[+/–] button to zoom in.
Press the [–] part of the Zoom
[+/–] button to zoom out.
The following levels of zoom are
available:
1/4, 1/2, x1, x2, x4
3 To see other areas of the picture
while zoomed, use the remote
controller’s arrow [
], [ ], [ ],
[ ] buttons.
The Zoom Navigator shows which area
of the screen is currently zoomed.
4 To cancel the Zoom function,
press the [Zoom On] button.

Time Search
1 Press the [Search] button twice.
The Disc Navigator Search window
appears onscreen.
2 Use the number buttons to enter
a time.
To enter, for example, 1 hour, 25 min-
utes, 30 seconds, press the [1], [2], [5],
[3], and [0] buttons.
To enter, for example, 2 minutes, 15
seconds, press [2], [1], and [5].
3 Press the Play [ ] button to
locate the specified point.
Playback starts from the specified
point.
