4 Press the cursor button to select "HIFI" or "LINEAR".
• Select Hi-Fi to playback sound recorded on the Hi-Fi track and for normal use. The L and R indicators will light
in the VCR's display panel.
• Select LINEAR to play back the sound recorded on the linear monaural track. Also, if the audio sounds
distorted or unusual or there is no audio, select LINEAR.
5 Press the GUIDE button to end the setting.

Using the shuttle ring
The shuttle feature lets you control all the playback functions -- PLAY, PAUSE, SLOW MOTION, and SEARCH --
using one convenient ring.
How to use the shuttle ring
1 Turn the shuttle ring during playback or still playback (pause).
• As you turn the ring, you get different playback speeds and forward or reverse morion.
• Try using the shuttle to explore backward and forward through your next video.
2 Turn the ring while in stop mode to fast forward or rewind the tape.
• The tape continues to be wound even after you release the dial.
