My photo is
too dark.

There was not enough
light.

Wait for natural lighting conditions to improve or use the
flash to illuminate your subject (see “Using the flash” on
page 39).

The flash was on, but the
subject was too far away.

The flash can only illuminate objects that are within 3m
(about 9

1/2 ft.) of the camera. Make sure your subject

is within range of the flash when you take the photo.

Your finger blocked the
flash.

Be sure to move your fingers away from the flash when
you are ready to take a photo.

My photo is
too bright.

The flash provided too
much light.

Change the flash setting to Auto or Off (see “Using the
flash” on page 39).

There was too much light
provided by a natural or
artificial source other
than the flash.

Try taking the photo from a different angle. Avoid
pointing the camera directly toward a bright light or
reflective surface on a sunny day. Use the On flash
setting if there is light behind your subject.

You were too close to the
subject to use the flash.

Move back from the subject or set the flash to Off and
take the photo again.
