Cleaning/Maintenance

Turn off the appliance and, before

doing any servicing, remove the bat-

tery.

When handling the cutting equip-

ment, wear safety gloves. In this

way, you avoid cutting damages.

Cleaning

Do not use cleaning agents or sol-

vents. You may otherwise irreparably

damage the appliance.

• Keep clean the ventilation slots, motor

housing and handles of the appliance.

Use a damp cloth or a brush.

Saw chain (

1) is to be wiped only

with a dry cloth.

General maintenance

Leave any maintenance and servic-

ing work not covered by this manual

to our Service-Center. Use only origi-

nal spare parts.

• Check covers and safety devices for

damages and correct installation. Re-

place as necessary.

• Carefully perform the maintenance tasks

listed in the table on a regular basis

(see “Maintenance intervals”).

Resharpening of the saw chain

Leave the resharpening of a saw chain

to an expert or proceed according to the

instructions of your saw chain sharpener.

Resharpening a saw chain takes some prac-

tice. If in doubt, replacing the saw chain is

preferable.

Storage

Clean the equipment before putting it

away.

Put on blade cover ( 21).

• Always empty the oil tank before paus-

es in operation lasting several weeks

because the biological chain oil can

become resinous and block the oil out-

let channel.

Dispose of used oil in an

environmentally correct manner.

• Store the device in a dry, frost-free,

and dust-protected place and out of

reach of children.

• Remove the battery before storing the

unit for longer periods of time (e.g. hi-

bernation).

• Store the battery only in a partially

charged state. The state of charge

should be 40 – 60 % over a longer

storage period. (two LED lights of the

state of charge display ( 11b light

up green).

• During a longer storage period, check

the state of charge of the battery and

recharge if necessary roughly every

3 months.

• In order to keep the battery well

charged, avoid exposing the appliance

to extreme heat or cold in storage.

• Store the equipment between 10° C

and 25° C. During storage, avoid ex-

treme cold or heat so the battery does

not lose power.

Because there is a ventilation open-

ing in the oil tank lid, it cannot al-

ways be excluded that oil is emitted

in all device positions. It is therefore

advisable to empty the oil tank be-

fore each storage period.
