Kichler Lighting

1) Pass fixture wire from coupling on top of socket cluster
through end of long threaded pipe. Thread end of long
threaded pipe into coupling.
2) Pass fixture wire through long tube. Lower long tube down
over long threaded pipe.
3) Pass fixture wire through hole in coupling. Thread coupling
onto end of threaded pipe protruding from long tube.
4) Pass wire from coupling through stem. Thread end of stem into
coupling
NOTE: Thread locking compound must be applied
to all stem threads as noted with symbol (3) to prevent
accidental rotation of fixture during cleaning, relamping, etc.
5) Pass fixture wire through remaining stems and screw stems
together.
6) Thread one small threaded pipe into end of each small loop.
7) Pass fixture wire through first loop. Thread first loop onto
end of last stem.
8) Pass fixture wire through second loop and through hole in
canopy.
9) Pass threaded pipe at end of second loop through hole in
canopy.
10) Pass fixture wire through hole in lockwasher. Thread
lockwasher onto end of threaded pipe protruding from
inside canopy.
11) Pass fixture wire through hole in hexnut. Thread hexnut onto
end of threaded pipe.
12) Attach chain link to small loop at end of stem and to loop on
canopy.
13) TURN OFF POWER.
IMPORTANT: Before you start, NEVER attempt any work
without shutting off the electricity until the work is done.
a) Go to the main fuse, or circuit breaker, box in your
home. Place the main power switch in the “OFF”
position.
b) Unscrew the fuse(s), or switch “OFF” the circuit breaker
switch(s), that control the power to the fixture or room
that you are working on.
c) Place the wall switch in the “OFF” position. If the fixture
to be replaced has a switch or pull chain, place those in
the “OFF” position.
14) Find the appropriate threaded holes on mounting strap.
Assemble mounting screws into threaded holes.
15) Attach mounting strap to outlet box. (Screws not provided).
Mounting strap can be adjusted to suit position of fixture.
16) Grounding instructions: (See Illus. A or B).
A) On fixtures where mounting strap is provided with a
hole and two raised dimples. Wrap ground wire from
outlet box around green ground screw, and thread into
hole.
B) On fixtures where a cupped washer is provided. Attach
ground wire from outlet box under cupped washer and
green ground screw, and thread into mounting strap.
If fixture is provided with ground wire. Connect fixture
ground wire to outlet box ground wire with wire connector
(not provided.) after following the above steps. Never
connect ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
17) Make wire connections (connectors not provided). Reference
chart below for correct connections and wire accordingly.

*Note: When parallel wires (SPT I & SPT II)
are used. The neutral wire is square shaped
or ridged and the other wire will be round in
shape or smooth (see illus.)

18) Push fixture to ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws
through holes in canopy.
19) Thread knurl knobs onto mounting screws. Tighten knurl
knobs to secure fixture to ceiling.
20) Unscrew ball studs holding retaining plates in place above
socket cluster. Remove both retaining plates.
21) Lower one half of top glass diffuser down onto bracket in
center of fixture above socket cluster.
22) Set one retaining plate on top of top glass diffuser. Align
holes in retaining plate with holes in top glass diffuser.
23) Thread end of one ball stud into hole in retaining plate and
into top glass diffuser. Carefully tighten ball stud to secure
retaining plate and top glass diffuser in place. (DO NOT over
tighten.)
24) Repeat steps 21-23 for remaining top glass diffuser and
retaining plate.
25) Thread end of threaded pipe with hexnut into hole in bottom
of socket cluster.
26) Screw hexnut onto end of threaded pipe.
27) Raise shade up to fixture. Fit shade over socket cluster.
28) Raise glass diffuser up to fixture. Pass hole in glass diffuser
over end of threaded pipe. Fit glass diffuser up against
bracket on bottom of shade.
29) Pass hole in rubber washer over end of threaded pipe
protruding from bottom of glass. Pass hole in flat washer
over end of threaded pipe. (DO NOT over tighten.)
30) Thread hexnut onto end of threaded pipe.
31) Pass hole in bottom trim over end of threaded pipe. Thread
finial onto end of threaded pipe. (DO NOT over tighten.)
32) Attach large crystal to loop in center of fixture body.
33) Attach small crystal to loop on bottom of finial.
