Preserve for six minutes: After the master leaves, the bridge MAC address will not change within
six minutes. If the master does not come back after six minutes, the IRF virtual device will use the
bridge MAC address of the newly elected master as its bridge MAC address.

Preserve permanently: No matter whether the master leaves the IRF virtual device or not, the
bridge MAC address of the IRF virtual device remains unchanged.

Not preserved: As soon as the master leaves, the system will use the bridge MAC address of the
newly elected master as its bridge MAC address.

If the device receives hello packets with a bridge MAC address the same as that of its own, it
cannot form an IRF virtual device with the peer device. The reason may be: After configuring the
bridge MAC address of the IRF virtual device to be preserved permanently after the master leaves,
you remove an SRPU of the device to another device, and use this device to form an IRF virtual
device with the local device. In this case, because the removed SRPU still uses the original bridge
MAC address to send hello packets, the IRF virtual device may not be able to be established.
Setting the Delay Time for the Link Layer to Report a Link-Down Event
During the suppression time, the system cannot be aware of the switch between IRF link states; after
the suppression time, the link layer reports the link state changes to the system, and then the system
handles the problem accordingly. Use this function to avoid adding additional overhead to the system
caused by the frequent link state changes of an interface in a short time.
