Inputs and Outputs
• HDMI Out – Outputs HDMI 1.3. The HDMI output of BrightEye 81 is not HDCP encrypted.
The High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is an uncompressed, all-digital interface that
transmits digital video and eight channels of digital audio. HDMI is a bit-serial interface that
carries the video content in digital component form over multiple twisted-pairs. The HDMI
interface standard supports limited cable length as compared to SD and HD SDI. The use of
cables over 10m (30 feet) is not recommended.
• SDI Outputs – BrightEye 81 provides two identical SDI Outputs. When the SDI input receives
3G, HD or SD SDI, the Out 1 and Out 2 BNCs output two identical copies of the input.
When the input is HD Dual Link, using both the Link A and Link B inputs, the HDMI output is
HD 4:4:4 and two identical copies of 3G Dual Link Level B are output on the Out 1 and
Out 2 BNCs.
• SDI Input – This BNC input accepts a 3 Gb/s HD SDI, 1.5 Gb/s HD SDI, or SD SDI video signal.
• Dual Link Inputs A and B – These BNC inputs accept a 1.5 Gb/s HD 1080 SDI Dual Link
input.
