Progressive Scan Circuit “DCDi™”
“DCDi™” is trademark of Faroodja, a division of Genesis Microchip
Inc.
The S-102 is equipped with a high precision Progressive Scan circuit
“DCDi™” allowing it to reproduce movies and other images on DVDs
with a quality near that of the original.
AL24 Processing (Stereo mode only)
AL24 Processing has inherited the technology of the original ALPHA
Processing that was used in DENON’s highly-successful reference-
class audio components.
AL24 Processing further reduces quantization distortion and represents
the ultimate analog waveform reproduction technology designed to
support the higher numbers of bits and higher sampling.
AL24 Processing senses the nature of the digital data being input and
interpolates the data so that it faithfully replicates the original analog
waveform. AL24 processing operates when CD, MP3 or WMA data
is inputted.
HDCD® is an encoding/decoding technology that greatly reduces
the distortion that occurs upon digital recording while maintaining
compatibility with the conventional CD format, thus expanding the
dynamic range and achieving a high resolution.
Conventional CDs and HDCD compatible CDs are identified
automatically to select the optimum digital processing.

Audyssey Dynamic EQ.
Audyssey Dynamic EQ. is a technology that automatically corrects the
tonal balance of an audio system when the volume is changed. It
is based on psychoacoustic research that better matches to human
perception than other loudness compensation that was used before.
The tonal balance is adjusted continuously with variation in both
program material and volume setting.
Audyssey BassXT
Audyssey BassXT is a solution to extend bass performance to lower
frequencies without increasing cabinet size, driver size or weight.
BassXT actively monitors the incoming low frequency signal and
drives subwoofers to their maximum capability at all volumes, thereby
producing deeper bass at all volume levels. This allows the subwoofer
to play low bass content when it can and protects it only for the few
times when it can’t. It is not like simple bass boost or tone control
as the system is fully customized for each speaker design by DSP
processing and works in real time.
Manufactured under license from Audyssey Laboratories, Inc.
U.S. and foreign patents pending.
