necting the AC/DC adapter plug from the Power
Pack.
Change-over to charging is automatic when
discharging has been completed.
6. Self-discharge
NiMH batteries have an inherent self-discharge
rate. With the Power Pack this depends upon the
duration of use and a number of other factors and
amounts to approx. 1 to 3 per cent of the rated
capacity per day.
7. Faults and Remedies
The following appears on the Power Pack display:
7.1 Temperature fault
The Power Pack is either too cold or too warm to be
charged (fig.6). Charging will start automatically as
soon as the temperature is within 6 °C and 35 °C.
7.2 Charging is automatically aborted
The three LED’s on the display panel start blinking
when the Power Pack automatically stops charging,
as described in Chapter 4.2 (see fig.7).
Repeat the attempt to charge. If this still remains
unsuccessful, then the service life of the batteries has
probably come to its end. Please contact an authori-
zed METZ servicing centre to have the defective bat-
teries exchanged.
For reasons of safety these charging attempts should
not be repeated several times!
7.3 Short-circuit
The flash-ready light starts blinking in the event of a
short-circuit or overload of the connecting socket of
the Power Pack (fig.8).
Try to remedy the fault by briefly switching the main
switch off and then on again, or by disconnecting
and then reconnecting the AC/DC adapter plug.
If this remains unsuccessful then either the connec-
ting cable or the flashgun is defective.
Do not repeatedly try to switch on the Power
Pack!
