The Power Pack features a microprocessor control-
led battery monitor with capacity indication, and
integrated charge monitoring.
The amount of energy available at any given time is
permanently indicated as soon as the Power Pack is
switched on.
The Power Pack eliminates the need for batteries in
the flashgun.
Please also fold open the illustrated page at
the end of these instructions.
1. Safety Instructions
• The Power Pack may only be used in conjunction
with mecablitz 45 CL..*/45 CT..*, 50 MZ-5, 54
MZ-.., 58 AF-1, 70 MZ-.. and 76 MZ-.. flash-
guns. Operation with other units can damage
both the Power Pack and the connected flashgun;
people and other objects can be endangered!
(* only with 3-pin external voltage socket)
Due to extremley high power of the Power Pack,
flashguns connected to it could be thermally overlo-
aded under hard operating conditions if suitable

protective measures were not provided. A micropro-
cessor controlled monitoring circuit in the Power
Pack monitors the thermal load on the flashgun and
exteds the recycle time if there is a danger of over-
heating. This ensures that your flashgun is protected
in practically all operating situations.
However, the following notes should be observed:
50MZ-5, 70 MZ-. . and 76 MZ-.. only in zoom
positions 24 and 28 mm:
If the Power Pack is used together with a 50 MZ-5,
70 MZ-. . and 76 MZ-.. flashgun set to zoom posi-
tion 24 mm or 28 mm, a maximum of 14 full-power
may be triggered at shortest possible recycle time.
Shall, thereafter, another sequence of full-power
flashes be triggered at shortest possible recycle
time, the flasguns must first be allowed to cool off
for a period of about 20 seconds per every further
full-power flas to be fired.
45CT.. flashguns with transparent ( not yellowish )
diffusor:
If the Power Pack is used together with an older
45 CT.. flashguns with transparent (not yellowish)
diffuser, a maximum of 4 full-power flashes may be
