into text and open the application for you. If you want
to perform OCR on a foreign language, you should first
choose OCR Setup from ScanOffix Pro’s File menu in
order to change dictionaries.
Q.
Is there a proper way to close the TWAIN screen or
ScanOffix Pro?
A.
Yes! To make sure your program doesn’t crash, be sure
to first close the TWAIN screen (a.k.a. Easy TWAIN
Module) and then close ScanOffix Pro.
Q.
Why does the scanned image always look so dark?
A.
You need to change the Gamma value. With the TWAIN
screen in front of you, click the Gamma curve button,
then click the Gamma value button. Drag the little black
square on the line curve to the left until the gamma
value is at about 1.80.
Q.
When I try to scan the software freezes up, or the whole
thing crashes. What should I do?
A.
First of all, try simply turning your computer off and on
again. If that doesn’t work, you may need to delete
some files. Go to your Windows directory and find the
file (not the folder!) Spot.ini, delete it, and re-start
Windows. If that doesn’t work then find the folder
C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN\SPOT\DATA and delete every file
inside that has the extension job (for example,
Spot00.job), and restart Windows.
