Instructions for 716-102 and 7165-102 Subsets
Removal of Old Assembly
1. Remove the four screws securing the subset to the wall or panel. Save screws for re-assembly.
2. Remove the four screws that secure the rear cover to the front panel housing. Save screw for re-
assembly.
3. Carefully separate the two pieces for a few inches to expose the connecting cables.
4. Carefully cut the tie-wrap that holds the cable harnesses together.
5. Disconnect the plug from receptacle J4. Note that this is a locking plug. Press release latch to unplug.
6. Remove the two screws securing the handset cradle to the front panel.
7. Slide the cradle, switch, and wiring harness assembly through the hole in the front panel.
8. Discard the cradle assembly and screws.
Installation of New Assembly
9. Feed the cradle assembly wires through the front panel and secure the cradle with the two screws
provided.
10. Reconnect the wire harness plug to J4 as noted in step 5. Bundle handset and reed wires with the
tie-wrap, as necessary.
11. Reassemble the cover to the front panel housing using screws from step 2. Ensure that no wires or
cables are being pinched.
12. Re-mount the subset into the wall or panel with the 4 screws from step 1.
13. Check for proper operation.
Instructions for 711-102 and 7115-102 Subsets
Removal of Old Assembly
1. Remove the two screws securing the subset from the desk-edge mounting bracket. Save the screws for
re-assembly.
2. Remove the eight screws (four screws each side) securing the dust covers on each side of the desk-edge
housing. Save screws for re-assembly.
3. Carefully separate the side cover that contains the mounted PC board assembly.
4. Carefully cut the tie-wrap that holds the cable harnesses together.
5. Disconnect the plug from receptacle J4. Note that this is a locking plug. Press release latch to unplug.
