Installation
1. Units with stainless steel roll pin: Remove the lower
hinge by driving the pin out with a 5/32-inch pin punch.
Units with Telflon
®
pin: Remove the lower hinge by
cutting the pin off below pin retainer using a knife or
chisel.
2. Ream the hole using a 0.187-inch diameter drill.
3. Refer to Figure 1. Position the spring as shown. Align the
coils of the spring with hinge hole while sliding new hinge
pin into the assembly.
4. Press new retainers into new hinge pin using a 3/16-inch
hex socket wrench. Leave a 1/16-inch clearance between
retainers and the spring.
