DRIVE CHAIN/SPROCKETS
The condition and adjustment of the drive chain should be checked before
riding. Always follow the guidelines below for inspecting and servicing the
chain.
Inspecting the Drive Chain
When inspecting the chain, look for the following:
· Loose pins
· Damaged rollers
· Dry or rusted links
· Kinked or binding links
· Excessive wear
If you find anything wrong with the drive chain, solve the problem by repairing
or replacing the chain. If necessary, consult your authorized service center.
Inspecting the Sprocket
Check sprocket for damage or wear. A worn chain can have an adverse affect
on the front and rear sprockets. When inspecting the sprockets, look for
the following:
Good
Worn
If you find any of these problems with your sprocket, consult BAJA INC. or
your local service center.
WARNING
Failing to maintain the chain properly before each riding could be
hazardous.
Riding with the chain in poor condition could lead to an accident.
Be sure to inspect and maintain the chain before riding, according to these
guidelines.
