RIDING YOUR ATV

When traversing a slope, you should:
1. Lean your body uphill.
2. Steer slightly uphill, if necessary, to maintain a

straight course.

WARNING

Stalling, rolling backwards or improperly dismounting while climbing a hill.

Could result in ATV overturning.

Use proper gear and maintain steady speed when climbing a hill.

If you lose all forward speed:

Keep weight uphill.

Apply brakes.

Lock parking brake, after you are

stopped.

If you begin rolling backwards:

Keep weight uphill.

Never apply the rear brake while rolling backwards.

Apply the front brake.

When fully stopped, apply rear brake as well, and then

lock the parking brake.

Dismount on uphill side or to a side if pointed straight uphill.

Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in the

owner’s manual.

RIDING OVER OBSTACLES

WARNING

Improperly operating over obstacles.

Could cause loss of control or a collision. Could cause the ATV to overturn.

Before operating in a new area, check for obstacles.

Never attempt to ride over large obstacles, such as large rocks or fallen trees.

When you go over obstacles, always follow proper procedures as described

in the owner’s manual.
