11.2 Existing PCMCIA Card Sockets (CardWizard)
The additional DOS utilities which enable the PCMCIA cards to be accessed using
built-in card slots, requires the use of third party driver software. This software
is called CardWizard™ and is available from SystemSoft Corporation.
This software should be loaded on to your computer (following the instructions
supplied with it) prior to using the other interface programs and before
attempting to run DeCopy or DeImage. The software will then always be loaded
automatically as a device driver when the PC boots up.
The data stored on a PCMCIA card is extracted in a two step process.
¤
The data is copied from the card into an image file on the computer’s
hard disk using the DeCopy program.
¤
The image file is converted into a data file compatible with the WinIaq
application using the DeImage program.
11.2.1 DeCopy
This program extracts the data stored on a PCMCIA card and saves it to disk in a
compressed format. This file is referred to as an Image file. The Image file is
then converted to a data file compatible with the WinIaq applica
tion using the
DeImage
program.
