Lubrication and Maintenance
WARNING
BEFORE PERFORMING ANY
MAINTENANCE OR ADJUSTMENTS TO
TRACTOR, ENGINE OR ATTACHMENTS:
LOWER ATTACHMENTS TO GROUND,
DISENGAGE ATTACHMENT/PTO DRIVE,
SHUT OFF ENGINE AND WAIT FOR ALL
MOVING PARTS TO STOP. SET PARKING
BRAKE AND ALLOW ENGINE AND
MUFFLER TO COOL.
Preventive maintenance resuits in longer
operating iife and better performance.
Engine Oil
Engine oil level must be within safe range
on dipstick at all times. Check before use.
Your engine may vary from these
instructions. See engine manuai for
compiete engine information and oif
specifications.
To check oil level:
1.
Clean area around dipstick (Fig. 7-1)
so dirt does not fall into crankcase
when dipstick is removed.
2.
Remove dipstick. Oil level must be
between the "L" and "F" marks on the
dipstick.
DO NOT OVERFILL.
Oil
level must not exceed the "F" mark on
the dipstick.
New engine:
Change the oil after the first
5 hours of use, then change oil regularly
as specified on the lubrication chart.
Add oil:
Remove the oil fill cap (Fig. 7-1)
and add oil.
Change oil:
Change oil as specified on
lubrication chart. Drain oil while it is hot.
Hot oil flows more freely and carries away
more impurities.

Remove drain plug. (Locate drain
plug under tractor, beneath engine.)
Drain oil completely.
2.
Re-install drain plug. Remove oil fill
cap.
3.
Re-fill with oil. See Oil Specifications
chart for correct oil type. Fill to level
between "L" and “F“ marks on
dipstick.

STOP ENGINE BEFORE CLEANING
FLYWHEEL!
Check for debris and clean
regularly.
A dirty air screen and engine can cause
engine to overheat.
