5. APPLICATIONS AND METHODS
Straight Sewing
Set machine as shown.
Adjusting Thread Tension
Check if upper and lower thread tension is equal
and strong enough to lock both threads in center
as figure @.
If upper tension is too tight, the upper thread will
lie straight along the upper surface of the fabric

. Correct by turning tension dial to the left.
If upper tension is too loose, the lower thread will
lie straight along, the lower surface of the fabric

Correct by turning tension dial to the right.
* Always check the balance of upper and lower
tensions before sewing garment. Use the same
fabric, needle, thread and stitch pattern you
plan to use.
Zigzag Sewing
Set machine as shown.
To prevent seam ends from unravelling set machine
for straight stitch and sew in reverse at beginning
and ending of seam.
Thread Tension for Zigzag Stitch
Loosen upper thread tension for a better-looking
zigzag stitch.
