5. Rotate the takedown
lever (16) clockwise
and upward until in a
horizontal position.
6. Lower the hammer using the decocking lever (40) - applies to
DA/SA models only.
9.5. Magazine Assembly
1. Place the magazine spring and feeder into the magazine tube
from the bottom and compress until the magazine spring is flush
with the bottom of the magazine tube.
2. Push the magazine floorplate rearward onto the magazine tube
until the lower end of the magazine spring latches into the slot on
the magazine floorplate. Tug forward on the magazine floorplate
to ensure it is secure.
9.6. Function Verification
The Function Check is performed on the assembled pistol to
verify functionality. It should be performed after the completion
of repairs and after each cleaning and assembly of the pistol.
Verify the magazine is removed and unloaded - visually
and physically confirm the pistol and chamber are
unloaded before performing function checks. Failure to
ensure the firearm is unloaded could result in
unintentional discharge, causing injury or death.
