6. Retract the slide rearward as far
as it will go and hold.
7. Lift the slide upward at the rear.
8. Slowly guide the slide forward until free of the frame
and barrel.
CAUTION
Slide is under spring tension. Maintain positive control during
slide removal to prevent damage or injury. Wear eye protection.
9. Remove the recoil spring (3) from the barrel (1).
This level of disassembly is sufficient for cleaning after shooting.
Further disassembly of the pistol should only be performed by
armorers or trained gunsmiths.
