Checking the PRESETS memory (REVIEW)
As long as the player is in the PRESETS mode you can check
the PRESETS memory;
• Press REVIEW.
- PRESETS lights up; all settings will now be shown on the display.
• With REVIEW you can proceed more rapidly to the next
block of information.
- PRESETS EEPIE/.-.l-FflDER-SPflCE-SCfiN-PLflr
appears on the display twice.
• Press STOP/CP or PRESETS again to go back to STOP mode.
EDIT
The EDIT function has two recording modes (EDIT and EDIT
OPTIMAL) and one play mode (TIMER EDIT).
In the EDIT and EDIT OPTIMAL mode you can store the
recording time of the tape in the player memory.
In the TIMER EDIT mode you can store a required playing
time.
EDIT - The player will determine which tracks fit on one
side of the tape and will stop after the last track.
EDIT OPTIMAL-The player will now make optimal use of
the available recording time by e.g. recording a track for
side B on side A if there is still some recording time left.
TIMER EDIT -Towards the end of the entered playing time
the sound level will gradually decrease according to the set
FADE time (PRESETS). If necessary, the CD or the
programme will be partly repeated to fill the entered time.
NOTE!
- The EDIT function cannot be used for CDs containing
more than 29 tracks.
- The - VOLUME + keys may not be used during recording
(EDIT and EDIT OPTIMAL) as they affect the strength of
the signal from the player.
Recording in the EDIT (OPTIMAL) mode:
• In STOP mode, press EDIT once to select the (normal) EDIT
mode or twice to select the EDIT OPTIMAL mode.

• With TRACK ►! you can now select the required
recording time: C 30, C H6, C SO, C 30, C/00 orC lE'O.
Other recording times can be selected using the 1-0 digit keys.
- A lights up and the track number indicator shows which
tracks fit onto side A of the tape.
• You can now record the entire CD or a programme from it.
• Press PU\Y/REPLAY.
- The numbers for side A of the tape will be played one after
the other.
- After each track the pause time set in the PRESETS mode
(AUTO SPACE) will be inserted.
- AUTOSPACE lights up.
- After the last track play will stop.
- B lights up and the track number indicator now indicates the
•tracks for side B.
• Turn the tape over.
• Press PLAY/REPLAY.
- The remaining tracks will now be played.
NOTE!
- As soon as you press PLAY/REPLAY the other player
functions (except TIME and REVIEW) will temporarily be
switched off to prevent the recording being interfered
with;

other buttons during play/recording.
- You can stop playback/recording by pressing STOP/CP or
OPEN/CLOSE;

- Should the CD or the programme be longer than the total
recording time of the tape, play will stop after the last
track that fits onto side B of the tape.
Playback in the TIMER EDIT mode:
• Press EDIT three times (in STOP mode).
- TIMER EDIT lights up and TIMER appears on the display.
• Select the required playing time with !◄ TRACK ►! or the 1-0
digit keys: 30 MIN, H5 MIN, 6011IN, 30 MIH, !00 fllN
or lEO MIN.
- The track number indicator indicates the tracks (of the CD or
the programme) which will be played during the entered
time.
• Press PLAY/REPLAY.
You can also start play by pressing SHUFFLE; the tracks will
then be played in a random order.
- Towards the end of the entered playing time the sound level
will gradually decrease. If necessary, the CD or the
programme will be partly repeated to fill the entered time.
- At the end of the fade-out time play will stop.
NOTE!
- As soon as you press PLAY/REPLAY or SHUFFLE the
other player functions (except TIME and REVIEW) will
temporarily be switched off;

LISTENING WITH HEADPHONES (PHONES)
• Connect headphones with a 6.3 mm jack plug to the
PHONES socket.
• The sound level is adjusted with the LEVEL control.
