Using the CLEAR Spot via USB
For additional convenience, you can connect your CLEAR Spot, via a Mini-USB Cable, to a
compatible (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Mac OS x 10.4 or higher) computer (also
known as tethering) when:
If you choose to connect your CLEAR Spot directly to your computer, via the USB Cable, you can
choose to disable the CLEAR Spot wi-fi network or to keep the CLEAR Spot wi-fi network active. If
you don’t disable the CLEAR Spot wi-fi network, you can have a total of six devices connected (one
via the USB Cable and five to the CLEAR Spot wi-fi network) at the same time.
While the CLEAR Spot is connected via the USB Cable, the CLEAR Spot battery is being charged.
In order to use your CLEAR Spot connected to your computer, via the USB Cable, you must first
download the required drivers. Follow the instructions on the Tools / Admin Tab.
If you disabled the “wi-fi while connected via USB Cable” setting, remember to change the setting to
“on” when you disconnect the USB Cable and before you use the CLEAR Spot wi-fi network.
If you’re using your CLEAR Spot and are
connected to the internet, click
open the CLEAR Spot Home Page.
You need to charge the CLEAR Spot battery, but
you don’t desire to use the Wall Charger or it is not
available.
The computer you’re using doesn’t have wi-fi
capability.
You desire to block others from using your CLEAR
Spot wi-fi network.
