TROUBLESHOOTING
Review this table to find do-it-yourself solutions for minor performance problems. Any service
needed, other than maintenance described in this Use & Care Guide, should be performed
by a Sears or other qualified service agent.
A WARNING
Disconnect electrical supply before performing maintenance to the vacuum cleaner.
Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Vacuum cleaner
won’t run. 1. Unplugged at wall outlet.
2. Tripped circuit breaker/blown
fuse at household service panel.
3. Thermal protector tripped.
4. Defective wall outlet.
5. Handle screw not tight.
1. Plug in firmly and push ON/OFF
button.
2. Reset circuit breaker or replace
fuse.
3. Allow vacuum cleaner to cool,
then reset thermal protector.
4. Check with a good
appliance/lamp, have properly
serviced.
5. Tighten screw.
Poor job of dirt
pick-up.
1. Full or clogged dust bin.
2. Floor tool selector valve,
not in correct position.
3. Wrong pile height setting.
4. Worn agitator.
5. Clogged nozzle or bag holder.
6. Clogged hose.
7. Broken/misplaced belt.
8. Hose not inserted fully.
9. Motor protection system
activated.
10. Dirty filters.
1. Empty dust bin.
2. Change to correct position.
3. Adjust setting.
4. Replace agitator.
5. Check CLOG REMOVAL.
6. Check for clogs.

Vacuum Cleaner picks
